Better late than never

On opening the post this morning I spied that a letter was from the Halifax. Initially thinking it was an interest rate reduction notification, I was ready to bin the letter. However, on further reading, it was a letter to say that when my mother died, they closed her account and applied early closure penalties which they said they should not have done. In short, they are refunding a not inconsiderable sum to the estate, augmented by compensation interest of 8%.....a cheque is in the post.
My mother died mid-2013.
