Can be viewed on Acorn TV. Talking to my cousin in America and he mentioned this series, he said he was thoroughly enjoying it. Adrian Scarborough plays the title role, must admit couldn't immediately bring him to mind but the minute you see him you realise he's one of those actors you've seen loads of times but not always in the starring role. Tried the first episode and enjoyed it, hope the rest of the series is as good.

IMHO the rest of the series is as good as the first episode. Much of it is filmed on location in Kensington and Chelsea, as well as Earl's Court.

It has been renewed for a second series. For those who are interested, here is the trailer.

I best remember Adrian Scarborough playing the leader of the bell ringers in Midsomer Murders "Ring Out Your Dead".

Acorn TV is well worth a look. They've done a good job with their recent own productions (Chelsea Detective, Agatha Raisin, Harry Wild, Signora Volpe). For those who haven't already seen it on Drama, Acorn TV also has "The Brokenwood Mysteries" which is New Zealand's equivalent of Midsomer Murders). They also have "Jack Irish" (Australian solicitor turned debt collector and private detective who occasionally helps out a friend with his seriously dodgy horse racing schemes).
