Hitchhikers Guide (The Original)

I recently recorded the Hexagonal Phase but haven't had chance to listen to it yet. However good it is, it will never beat the 1978 original series though. And I've just found out that series 1 is now being aired on Radio 4 Extra (10:30pm every night). This is to be followed by Series 2. Hopefully they will air all 5 series of the show. I have them all on cassette somewhere but it will be good to update the recordings.

Hitchhikers died with DNA and should be left to rest in peace.

Those who made the film should be prosecuted in the Hague.

This is not an over reaction.

^^^ what he said.

My mum used to record it from the radio during the original run, using our little Decca tape recorder. I've probably got some of the tapes still!

I was introduced via the BBC series in 1981 before I was even a teenager. That is the definitive version for me.

And yes the film was so bad I only ever want to see it the once. I was given it as a DVD for my birthday ages ago, still in plastic wrapper.

Douglas Adams is in a very short list whose death has affected me to any great degree.
