Movie Quote Quiz
Honesty system, rules are preferably paraphrase the question instead of exact quoting, try to do it from memory, and don't look up the answer from internet or book.
I'll start with two.
#1
we'll jump!
I can't swim!
Ha! are you crazy? the fall will probably kill you!
#2 (difficult)
I quit. (looks at himself in the mirror)
why?
I ain't gonna piss on my whole life.

Correct. #2 is difficult but from the same genre and era (late 60's/early 70's).

The genre would be Western and Taxi Driver was late 70's IIRC.

I can see a second-rater like you wouldn't be any help going against a hard case like Ganz.

Re: Movie Quote Quiz
#2 and #3 are both Lee Marvin, in Monte Walsh (1970) and The Professionals (1966).
I'll do an easy one
#5
Fredo, I know it was you. You broke my heart.

Re: Movie Quote Quiz
May I add no. 6, from one of my favourite films, which’ll be easy for film buffs:
Let's go out dancing! You put on your black dress, and I'll go shave my tongue.
and/or
Those dirty bastards! Beating up a woman. They even knocked your breasts out of whack.

Re: Movie Quote Quiz
PD, that's not easy but the shaving the tongue rings a bell. It wouldn't be American Graffiti, would it? Something along those lines.
edit. could be Grease.
edit2. could be Animal House.

Re: Movie Quote Quiz
Many films and many film noire actors were involved in the film, if that’s enough of a clue, although it was made in the ....s.

Both films I've watched more than once.
When I looked up #3 I remembered the scene, but #2 doesn't ring any bells.
As for #5 I never got the Godfather films and don't remember any character called Fredo

It is in the book, Jack Shaefer or something, wrote Shane also, but in the film I do remember Monte is getting on a bit, works for a western circus, so he's all pimped up in a buffalo bill style clothes, rouge on the lips and cheek bones, just about to earn a dollar on the stage. Looks at himself in the mirror. Quits.

Correct but not forgetting Rachel Ward (especially), Bergman, Bogart, Cagney and many more. At least this has enabled me, after however many years, to find out why the film was given that title.
When I said one of my favourite films, it was at the time but the second half wasn't as good as the first, imho. Only 6.8/10 on IMDb though.

JMN2 wrote:"18th century Cameroon. Yes, your taste is in your ass." ...(BANG!)
Does this relate to your earlier quiz questions or is it a new one?
Anyway, I've looked that one up and it is described as including:
... grating music, crude dialogue that makes one chuckle (“18th century Cameroon? Your taste is in your ass”) a completely un PC attitude towards women, completely gratuitous new wave art sequences, amongst many other things. ...
