Ant Man and the Wasp

7.5/10. Two more minor Marvel characters in a light & frothy film with the level of humour similar to Guardians of the Galaxy, and featuring Michael Douglas in a side role.

Both Ant Man and the Wasp have a superpower which enables them to shrink to yes, wasp and ant size, but they can change instantly between insect-size and human-size which comes in handy, and gives rise to some new ideas for special effects in the fight/chase sequences.

The plot is one of a personal quest with rival factions and enemies to overcome, but the main fun here is the situations where various characters get to banter with each other, a lot of likeable lead characters. Ant Man is an entertaingly flawed hero. In a recurring theme for Marvel superheroes, the superheroes seem to be troubled to a surprising degree by the FBI and the police. The baddies are also reasonably interesting/sympathetic.

In a refreshing change for Marvel, the future of the universe isn't at stake in this film. 2 hours running time, really enjoyed it.
