What did I not see?
The driver of a bullet proof car is killed with the first round -- no subsequent rounds penetrate.
I must have mis-watched

The windows were not bullet proof, but there was armour plating in the doors, which is why they got lower down in the vehicle.

To be fair, it wasn't the most incredulous part of the series.....

The bullet came through the window. As the attack continued, the bodyguard told the politician to stay below the windows as the bullets couldn't penetrate the metal body.

That was the story anyway, how true to life it is I don't know.

As to the incredulousness of it, I love the story that Metropolitan Police Commissioner Cressida Dick has said the plot is ridiculous: no police protection officer would sleep with a Home Secretary. Conveniently forgetting she was in charge of the special operations directorate when personal protection officer Paul Rice was sacked for sleeping with the wife of then Home Secretary Alan Johnson...

The bodyguard is excellent entertainment as long as you don't take the plot too seriously.
