Richard Wright died.

Pink Floyd were mainly known for the guitar playing of Dave Gilmour, and the songwriting of Roger Walters, but in my view it was the keyboards of Richard Wright which defined the Pink Floyd sound, the glue which held it all together, the foundation which supported the other musicians, always there in the background.
