Breaking Bad

#195081

Postby nimnarb » January 20th, 2019, 4:55 pm

Recent trial member of Netflix and decided to give this a go...............WoW, literally binge watched for two weeks or so. Thought it was excellent, music, photography, intense camera angles, humor, action, the lot and although slow in parts, really well done and great ending. Anyone seen "Better call Saul" and worth watching? The actor who played Saul was outstanding and thought if Kevin Cosner had a brother he would be it.

Regardless, any recs of other series that comes close to Breaking bad?

If you loved Breaking Bad you will like Better call Saul, It's not as good as BB and it's very different but it is very good.

Very different but very good is The Good Place.

Better Call Saul is terrific, also a binge watch. Narcos (Pablo Escobar story) is fantastic as well. That's enough to go on for now

Unfortunately I'm not a fan of Breaking Bad. That said everyone I know offline who watches it and raves about it also likes "Sons of Anarchy" (which is on Netflix). It is about a criminal biker gang in Northern California, with a plot that broadly follows the structure of Hamlet.

I second the recommendation of Narcos. I binge watched the first two series in two days (it's nice to be retired!).

Here are a couple of Netflix suggestion threads on TLF

Whats MMV? did a search and up came....."your number one source for German Porn" (perhaps later  ) Finding BCS also tough going.

Also have on my list to possibly see. Dexter, Ozark, Oz, Sons of Anarchy, The Wire, Weeds, The Shield and never seen The Sopranos.

I'm guessing "Other's MMV" is a play on YMMV - Your Mileage May Vary".

Things I can recall liking:
Ozark - though the second series is a bit farcical at times
Orange is the New Black is great, a bit filthy rude, but great.
Godless - a western I rather liked.
Stranger Things, spooky and set in the '80s.
The Good Place - clever and very funny
Happy - you love a flawed hero cop right?
