3/10. Period drama of Tolkien's early life.

Young Tolkien gets rescued from Birmingham thanks to Christian charity, gets to lives in a really nice home and is sent to a posh school, but is a bit of an ungrateful little sod. Makes literary chums at school, gets in the first world war, chases a girl, makes up languages while getting ideas for Lord of the Rings. I never warmed to Tolkien's character in this film and found the film duller than a dull day in Dullsville, but Mrs. Zico liked it. Maybe you have to be arty to appreciate this film.
