If you’re anything like me, whenever you’ve seen the term ‘deep fake’ in the media, you’ve presumed that it is just an extension of fake news.

And that is true to a certain extent. But it goes way way past fake news and into the realms of virtual reality.

I guess I’m not making myself very clear, so exhibit A: Jim Carrey stars in The Shining instead of Jack Nicholson.

Now. Be honest. If you hadn’t seen the film before, you’d believe that Jim Carrey starred in it right?

And that it what a ‘deep fake’ is.
