The film may have been rubbish, but he was always good.
Ah, I've lost the link.

Oh bugger.
He was good enough to attend our film and tv convention for the disabled a few years ago and went above and beyond to make everyone happy/comfortable, whilst not charging a bean for photos and autographs, unlike other conventions.
It was a pleasure to have met you RH, God bless you.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

He stole the show, by many miles, in arguably the most influential science-fiction film of all time.
Even in his not so good films, he was the one you watched. The camera loved him.
A few weeks ago my selection for our film night group was "24 Hours to Live". Low budget action film starring Ethan Hawke, who is always worth a watch. What got the biggest response from everyone else? That Rutger Hauer was in it
And he advertised Guinness! For many years

In addition to his epic role in Blade Runner, I thought RH was very impressive (i.e. terrifying) in The Hitcher (1986).

Cast against type, and impressively comic as the philosophical-yet-unhinged Tillman in the Dave series 'Porters', mostly in series 1.
Worth catching if you've not seen it already. Available on 'UKTV play'.

Cor! What an infuriating link.
Yes, an excellent review of Hauer and his performance in Blade Runner. Yet one that still had me shouting "No! No! No!" at its several, IMO, mistakes and errors. [Pedant Mode = ON]
