For those of us of a certain age, this was a must-see film in 1968, the year I left home to go to co!lege, its on my fave TV channel on Friday. Moving Pictures TV that is. I can't remember seeing it again since I watched it at the cinema on its release, so I'm prepared to be disappointed, even though I must watch. I think the phrase is 'it's a film of its time' , and today it might not cut the mustard.
It was heavily censored for the British market, too raunchy! This version might be the original as directed by Jack Cardiff, better known as a cinematographer, is that just a posh word for cameraman?
The title is slightly misleading, it should be ' The Girl on an overweight, poorly handling American Two Wheeled Tank'

Nice heads up but it's actually Talking Pictures TV (freeview 81). 10pm on Friday 18th. I've set my box to record it.
But if we're talking about girls on motorcycles who can forget Gilda Texter in Vanishing Point?!

Re: Girl on a Motorcycle.
If my memory serves me well the film was panned by the critics at the time. That was not unusual as several films of their time such as Easy Rider and the Wicker Man were subjected to bad reviews only later to become classics.

I looked it up on imdb, and it scored 5.3/10, not promising, but I'll still give it a go.

Re: Girl on a Motorcycle.
From your post, scottnsilky, I earmarked the film only to find that it is not subtitled. A pity because these days I can only watch anything at all on TV that is subtitled. Earlier the same evening a David Niven film, Paper Tiger, is being shown - with subtitles - so I'll give that a try.

That's poor!
If you have Amazon Prime it appears to be available in the UK to stream there - with subtitles

Thx for the memories and that clip. Was actually there at the premiere in Leicester Square to see Vanishing Point and loved it. In those days one could also buy the LP at the Cinema. The movie and the soundtrack still both rank right up there with my all time favs of music and film combined together.
