I have a very large collection of Dylan CDs and this evening The Basement Tapes came up. How wonderful. A double album with The Band, the basement being the basement of Big Pink in upstate New York where they did quite a lot of their work. It was recorded in 1967 and has Dylan and The Band in full flow, Robbie Robertson, Levon Helm et al. I heartily recommend both CDs.

Absolutely. What I now realise is how old we all are, including Robbie Robertson; I speak only of myself of course.
RR is credited with writing 'The Night they Drove Old Dixie Down'. I would imagine that that must be one of the better songs of the Deep South.
Great stuff!
