Julian Baptiste first featured in the Missing - an excellent BBC series some 7 years ago. He then re-appeared 2019 in Baptiste - also very good apart from a gurning classic by James Nesbitt. And now - I assume shot during the pandemic - Baptiste 2. This is truly awful - that I can but recommend it as so bad that it is compulsive. The script is beautifully trite, the plot holes are innumerable, the background music is excruciating - it really is a laugh a minute stuff. To top that all off - that wonderful actress Fiona Shaw has decided to out gurn James Nesbitt. She even decides to let out a little of her Irish accent at times to keep us all on our toes.
There are some tremendously awful scenes (Russ Meyer's Beyond the Valley of the Dolls quality) - I will give it 2/3 weeks before recommending some beauties - as really don't want to spoil the fun for other Fools - then maybe a competition for the best worst scene?

Re: Baptiste 2
I agree. It's utterly awful. Such a shame after the excellent first series The Missing.

Fully agree except that Nesbitt's gurning was in the first series of The Missing. It was Tom Hollander who made the mistake of appearing in the first spin-off.

Of course Nesbitt managed to outgurn himself in Bloodlands more recently.
