How come the investigator is allowed on a helicopter going out to the sub without any survival training in case of the heli ditching....what would elf an safety say! tut tut!

she had the training off camera (didn't she?)
more to the point when the reactor started going off with alarms bells, would she have been allowed to stand amongst the crew squawking "What's going on" ! they would have got her out of there ASAP !
anyway I'm not doing any more critcism of what looks like being a cracking good series, with a strong cast

Yeah, well the best of shows have absurdities, but one just has to go with them. My observation is, why did her cop colleague act as she did after finding the memory stick? If she hadn't reacted in that way, al would have been well - and plugging the thing in to her laptop to have a quick peek was irrational and stupid.

Still, I'm in for the series. It shows more promise than anything else around at the mo.

IIRC her Navy overseer came in to hassle her to finish up and she didn't have time to replace the foot on the chair, and she wanted to get off base ASAP in case that was discovered, which it was pretty pronto.

Taking away the faults, after all it should be entertaining and there will be some artistic license. I watched two episodes last night and thought it worth my time.

It was a bit of a Game of Thrones reunion and It's probably the first thing I've watched on teresteral TV in a while. I think I will keep going with this even if the entertainment is spotting the mistakes.

Do you mean some of the actors were the same? I noticed several familiar faces from other programs, though obviously not Game of Thrones.

Yes its the same actors from GoT. Gendry, Stannis, Ygritte etc playing different parts obviously. Im not expecting to see dothraki hordes or dragons but hey that might be cool.

Well Im not going to try and find them cos I want to take my brain out and enjoy it. Im not sure when its supposed to be set date wise but those helicopters have been out of service for some time now. When they opened the cargo door to winch her out it slid the wrong way, she took her crew helmet down to the sub ....... and left it? With her dry suit. She also went down on her own. Maybe the winchman was on holiday that day. Remember its only TV and we shouldn't worry about little things like tax payer funded expensive helmets and dry suits or maybe thats why they couldn't afford the extra crewman.

Focus on the clues instead!

I think I spotted one.

"...on diesels so need to go up to surface to use periscope." - Surely "to use snorkel" rather than "periscope"?

Though, at the surface, they'd need to use periscope as well. As the following action sequence demonstrated!

That the 'copter looked rather an old one vaguely crossed my mind at the time, now that I think of it.

I only watched the first 5 or 10 minutes of episode 1. I found the very bolshy, almost mutinous, reaction of the Line of Duty actor unbelievable. OTOH, I've never been in the services, so perhaps that isn't so unbelievable. Put me off anyway.

Another dark mumbling offering from BBC!! Had to watch it on iplayer ( lighter contrast than telly for some reason ) and on subtitles.

Flawed from the get go I thought - if the mission to remain undetected is SO critical why did the captain radio out the death in the first place? Just keep the body stowed until end of patrol?

It's ok. I'll have to stick with it now to see if my prediction of police lady/coxswain nookie in the bomb shop bears out....

Actually, the way all the crew behave is not what you would expect - however, the scriptwriters are conjuring up a drama, not a documentary. So let's bear with, eh?
