I miss Humph, Though Jack Dee is a reasonable replacement. And we don't hear a lot about Samantha these days
http://www.isihac.org.uk/
Samantha has been choosing records for the teams with the assistance of the elderly staff of the BBC gramophone archive. Some of their old seven inchers are looking a bit worn now, but they were all quite big back in the '60s. She's kindly picked the fluff off them and is ready to pump up the volume...

Yes. I was thinking that, listening the other night.

Graeme Garden is still alive.

Series 79 started on monday this week. 18:30 on Radio 4
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m001npbz

"This week we come from Bath, the city known worldwide as the gateway to Swindon."

"Samantha tells me that she's just paid a visit to the local gentleman apple farmer, who's recently bought an industrial apple press with a view to going into commercial drink production. She said she was delighted to help him squeeze the last drops of juice from his pippin, and is confident he'll soon be very big in cider."

And we were there for the recording of two of the episodes, in which the Rev. Richard Coles appears.

I've been to several shows over the years. If anyone wants to see one, sign up for the ISIHAC newsletter and you'll get a heads up of forthcoming shows a couple of days before they go on general sale. And the tickets are very cheap as well.

I went hunting for a newsletter (mentioned above) and found (& duly signed up):
Newsletter: http://www.isihac.net/

Also came across other sites (but apparently no newsletter):
http://www.isihac.co.uk/
http://www.isihac.org.uk/ (mentioned higher up this thread)

A new set of tour dates have just been announced for February & March 2024. These are not the radio show recordings but still the same format and general silliness.

I went to the recording in Blackburn a couple of Mondays ago (to be broadcast on Bank Hol Monday): it was a hoot! I'm looking forward to seeing how the broadcast version turns out! :-)

Usually much shorter, I've been to a good number of comedy show recordings radio and TV. One recording of Never Mind the Buzzcocks ran for over 3 hours to get a 30 minute show. I saw the ISIHAC theatre show 10 years back, I have seen the lovely Samantha.

Sadly, Samantha isn't what she was in Humph's day

Samantha has to nip off now as her plumber is sending round the man who does the annual safety test on her gas boiler, which always gives her great peace of mind. She says it's good to feel the plumber's tester calls at regular intervals.
