New Year fireworks

#637419

Postby Dicky99 » January 1st, 2024, 12:14 am

I only watched about 2 minutes of the Thames fireworks before switching over. During that 2 minutes the fireworks display was overlaid with commentary on diversity, same sex marriage, our love for the NHS etc...

It's new year BBC. Can't we have a night off forced political correctness and just have a fireworks display with some suitable music overlay :|

If I wanted to watch and listen to such drivel as the commentary I'd watch Dr Who and the Eurovision Song Contest...

Nobody is forcing you to watch these things you know.

I was in bed by 10.30. Much the better option. Happy New Year to all and may the markets be kinder to us all in 2024.

Sounded like a bomb going off over our house at midnight whilst asleep in bed  thought it was ww3! Some people have money to burn on fireworks. Feel sorry for dogs though.

As usual, Bungee Towers declared New Year at the stroke of midnight, continental Europe time - or 11pm as it's traditionally been called out here on this peripheral European archipelago. :)

A pity to have missed the BBC's rather forced effort at cultural diversity, but heck, we got an extra hour's sleep, and anyway we've all got streaming colds. Our neighbourhood New Year party has been postponed till next weekend. Oh, what anti-establishment rebels we are. :D

Load of cr*p. Drivel soundtrack, sounded like the advert for the Vauxhall Coarser - and the camera angles were lamentable, no sense of grandeur, what kind of idiot shows a firework display from above?
Everything gets worse. Happy 2024.

That's the problem with New Year. It's always on so bloody late.
