This American Life

Postby redsturgeon » April 11th, 2024, 6:22 pm

I usually walk my dog every day for about two hours, during that time I listen to podcasts and audiobooks. I have just discovered This American Life which is still going out with a weekly one hour show as it has been doing since 1995.

This American Life (TAL) is an American weekly hour-long radio program produced in collaboration with Chicago Public Media and hosted by Ira Glass.[3] It is broadcast on numerous public radio stations in the United States and internationally, and is also available as a free weekly podcast. Primarily a journalistic non-fiction program, it has also featured essays, memoirs, field recordings, short fiction, and found footage. The first episode aired on November 17, 1995

I googled the best episodes yesterday and the following came up...

a programme from 2013 detailing the trials and tribulations of an American car dealership trying to reach its target for car sales for the month. It was gripping, really interesting look at the car sales process in the USA. I would recommend it.

I will also be trying some others from the archive and will report on any gems.
