Pandemic, what pandemic?

#473892

Postby MrFoolish » January 17th, 2022, 7:40 pm

I remember when we were first locked down back in early 2020. There was much gnashing of teeth (especially from right-wingers) - with doom ladened prophecies that the economy would be a disaster for years to come.

But here we are after nearly two years of disruption and the world economies seem to be trundling along quite nicely. I note even the generally sluggish FTSE is almost back to record levels.

Perhaps we never needed to work like slaves in the first place?

The national debt has taken an enormous hit, most of the third World are unvaccinated and it aint over yet.

I wish I could share your optimism.

I wouldn't do that. You'll just get depressed and develop a crick in your neck. :(
