Pub chain Wetherspoon has warned profit growth will fizzle out as increased staff costs squeeze its bottom line.
I suspect that those companies blaming increased wage costs, rents and business rates are really emphasizing the latter two because there is strong pressure to reduce those at present, whereas the living wage will be impossible to reduce.
