Ha ha don't forget it's election time soon they've got to tempt us over to their side of the coin somehow!

I would not be tempted at all by their side of the coin - and neither would any rational investor - or come to think of it, anyone remotely rational. The trouble is far too many folk are tempted by their fairy tale socialist policies, and so the corrosion will continue until there is nothing left to rot away. Ain't democracy wonderful....

Interesting stuff. But would it not be true (and correct me if I'm wrong) that your contributions have been more along the lines of producing international standards rather than creating saleable products? Which is what Lootman was getting at.

Actually, I was the business manager for the activity. The telecoms standard I was referring to morphed into something that is now a market of several billion dollars annually for my former employer (actually happens to be a US based multinational)

Yup, but I'm not only meaning socialists. My coin metaphor means both parties are two sides of the same coin in our two party state (ok it's 2 1/2 parties in England if you include the Libdems). It's like the demise of the SDP was a cover for all the other mainstream parties becoming social democrats.
