A very old one but I don't recollect seeing it here or on the TMF site.
Helen visited her father in the nursing home practically every day.
One day she found him calm, collected and content when he said.
"I think my time on earth is coming to an end. What is interesting is how Our Lord softens the transition. For example, every night, when I go to the loo, Our Lord illuminates the path for me!"
A nurse noticing that Helen was upset as she left, stopped her.
"Hello Helen, how did you find your dad today?"
So she explained the conversation.
"Oh no", said the nurse "Sister! Sister!" she called.
The sister comes over.
"Good morning Helen, What is the matter Maria?"
"Oh sister, I think I know who has been weeing in the fridge."

Re: Approaching death
Also not so much of a joke, but as a child I remember being told by mum in the morning that I'd walked into their bedroom in the night, opened a wardrobe door and stood there looking in. Mum had asked me what I was doing and I muttered that I was going to the toilet.
Apparently she moved pretty damned quickly and guided me away. I had no recollection of any of it. Happily sleep walking has never afflicted me since. (Not even sure if that counted as sleep-walking as I guess I was half awake.)
