I really let the wife down today. We did everything she wanted to do, went to all the places she wanted to go to.
But I forgot to act as though I was delighted throughout.

That reminds me of the old comedy, 'Keeping up Appearances'. Wherever they went, the husband was told how to dress and keep a big fake smile on his face.
