Soccer and rugby are for softies, snowflakes and tree-huggers.
You could try the Ashbourne Royal Shrovetide football game. The goal posts are three miles apart. Committing murder or manslaughter is against the rules, and cemeteries and churchyards are out of bounds. There are few other restrictions.

Or for a quieter time, watch the Eton Wall game where the last goal was scored on St Andrew’s Day in 1909. Look for incidences of furking in which a player intentionally moves the ball backwards - except in the last few yards of the pitch (aka Calx)
