Brexit Beer Deal
A notice I saw under the heading:
Brexit Beer Deal
Tell the barmaid what you want and
she will serve you something else.

Brexit Beer Deal #2
A man goes into a bar and asks for a beer.
He's served a beer, but it's one he doesn't like.
He complains and says 'this isn't what I ordered'.
The barman says 'you ordered a beer and that's what I gave you. You didn't say which beer'.

The man grumbles, and then asks for some scratchings.
The barman 'sorry, it was a hard beer, so all of our snacks have run out'

Re: Brexit Beer Deal
The best Brexit beer deal is JD Wetherspoon with its special offer of 20p off a pint. Even to remainers
Its share price is up by over 90% since the day of the Brexit vote. Whereas the FTSE100 is up by about 19% over the same period.
(a satisfied Wetherspoons shareholder)

I had feared you were lost to these boards due to your unretirement. Are you back posting again?

Yes. I quit after 3 days when it became clear that I was expected to work most days in Central London, having been told that I was going to be allowed to work most days at home.
I gather that there had been a policy change and since I could afford to walk away I did. A 5 hour round trip commute is a deal breaker for me!

You did better than me. I have done one full day's work since retiring nearly 20 years ago. Although I don't include my "job" as a quizmaster in my local pub, which I am also now retired from.
With you on Wetherspoons by the way. My position is up nearly threefold. I recall drinking in their first pub in Muswell Hill, where I lived for a long time. It was maybe 40 years ago. Tim Martin follows me around - I see him pottering around Exeter from time to time, and at the George on South Street of course.
