The end of petrol and diesel cars in the UK was scheduled for 2030

This has now been brought forward to Friday

The FT's Robert Shrimsley has nailed it nicely by suggesting that Boris's govt has arranged all this as part of the push toward electric vehicles.
Suddenly it’s not just EVs that lack the range to get you home. I can see the slogan now: “Wouldn’t you rather be stranded on the right side of the environmental highway?”
