Not in that particular phrase.

No, his coat.

Or did you mean,

"My coat" ?

Since the context is mid-sentence, I find your capitalisation idiosyncratic.

You started it, I was quoting the capital in your "My coat?"

I wrote no such thing.

The poster with whom you appear to have confused me was writing (albeit probably unwittingly) in a different context, and the capitalisation was correct. It is only your in your (probably correct) interpretation of what was meant that the mid-sentence context applies.

I don't think I'm at home in pedantry.
I will get my coat.

Your statement is not very clear. I am sure, given enough time, we will all get our coats sometime in the future. Especially now it's winter, it gets a bit parky going out without a coat.
Do you mean that you are getting your coat right now, or in the next few minutes or so?

Does it matter? He is getting his coat - "I will" - so whether right now or later, the information is correct. As long as he actually does get it, otherwise an unfulfilled intention becomes a lie. Then again, anytime between now and his hopefully-not-for-a-long-time death fulfills that intention, so we might have to wait.

Has anyone seen my coat? I can't find it.

I thought I saw someone, draped in ill fitting pyjamas, wearing a coat that looked remarkedly like the one I was wearing when I arrived.

Did anybody notice where he went?

And should Lead vs. led. actually be Lead vs. LED? a.k.a. L.E.D. Light Emitting Diode

I'm not being condescending am I?
That means, talking down to you...

"In certain circumstances, unclear instructions could lead to disaster.
This led to the introduction of Health & Safety legislation."

I presume it is the existence of the noun 'lead', homophonous with 'led' (past participle of the verb 'to lead') that has led to the confusion but I was referring to the present participle of the verb, not to the toxic metal.

What? I came here to be pedantic, not helpful! :P
