"Not enough sense...
To get in out of the rain..."
I seem to recall that being an expression of exasperation on seeing someone repeatedly doing something silly!

I fear that episode was a harbinger for how the whole of the Tory election campaign will unfold. Beset with ill-fortune.

Re: "Not enough sense...
Not enough sense to have made good use of the last six months of govt... social care bill, assisted dying bill, build an armaments factory for Ukraine... then leave Labour to sort out any problems.
Stupid timing, own goal with no flights gone, and the immigration figures just out - another disgraceful year of influx a gift to Reform.
I had reason to choose Truss over Sunak, always thought he was a pillock and not even an interesting pillock.

"Where there's no sense there's no feeling." As my mother used to joke whenever I fell over and banged my knee. Suddenly, in the political context, those words seem to have acquired a second meaning.

Enshrined in song in 1979
Too late, you can't catch up now,
You face the wrong way anyhow,
I know you ain't got the brain,
To come in out of the rain,
Too bad, no magic,
I'm afraid you're merely tragic,
Seems strangely prescient now.

Truss was, in that case, a super pillock. At least Sunak didn't have her delusions and immediately steadied the ship. Even the most right wing Tory should appreciate that. He was put in charge of an ungovernable party at war with itself and in that context, did as well as could be expected.

I am surprised to see Ian Kilmister's stylings on TLF.

Apparently the Gubmint never believed the Rwanda Policy would be the Final Solution, so they went back to the Channel Islands.
