BBC Pilgrimage; the road to Santiago

Of course, it is about a Christian tradition, hundreds of years old, on a pilgrimage, and a black woman is offended of not finding anything black or of her culture in the old church.

Jesus, give me strength, while I read a few novels by Kipling and Dickens, the most racist of writers ever to have lived.

Turned on Radio 4, a few minutes to midnight, wondered if I was hearing a repeat of what you describe. Some woman moaning about not finding her kind (her portrayal, not mine) in some christian context of church and scriptures. Seemed like pure hate speech against her own religion.

But apparently not. It was a programme of "african poets". All very BBC. Maybe there was something worth hearing earlier in the programme, but I'm not going to investigate.
