EE Customer service

Me "I'd like to move to another supplier to get a SIM-only contract."
EE "You could stay with us and get a SIM-only contract".
Me "OK"
EE "We'll send you a SIM card right away. Just insert the new SIM card, and your phone will be out of action for 24 hours after you've put it in"
Me "That sounds OK".

One hour later. My phone is out of action.

One week later

Me "Where's my new SIM card?".
EE "We don't have a record of you wanting one. Would you like one?".
Me "Yes"
EE "We'll send you a SIM card right away".

One week later

Me "Where's my new SIM card?"
EE "Oops. We forgot. We'll send you one right away".
Me "Can you get my phone working until it arrives?"
EE "We'll pass you over to technical support". They can't do it.

My new SIM card arrives. I put it in. It doesn't work.

Me "Why isn't it working?"
EE "Your phone needs to be unlocked. It'll take at least 10 working days and cost you £8. We'll do it for you"
Me "#'*&#&*"
EE "Perhaps we'll waive the charge".

Days later

Me "How's the unlocking going?"
EE "Whoops. We forgot again. Let's try something else with your phone".
Me "You've actually done it. It works."

Don't you just love a happy ending.
