Nawww, Pembrokeshire coast, English language more or less spoken, you can be rude about England and you'll fit right in.

My dad's side of the family were from Pembrokeshire. Very nice area. Never heard of The Dangler....

Haha. Good one.
Yup. Pembrokeshire is like Devon but without half the home counties wangers rocking up to their second home every other weekend.
Alternatively, Isle of Wight. It's like England, but also kind of like England in the 80s. Cosy and a bit old fashioned. And you'll get to be fantastically bitter about ferry prices.

Re: Balls.
It is very nice -like Devon/Cornwall but affordable and quieter, and as pointed out above fewer second-home owning rich southerners
Pembrokeshire used to be known as 'Little England beyond Wales'

Tough choice

Re: Balls.
The name "Little England beyond Wales" really does describe South Pembrokeshire. Weather is better than most of Wales too!

Re: Balls.
Love Pembrokeshire, especially when they're speaking Welsh and taking the proverbial out of English speakers in the pub. The look on their faces when I tell them exactly what they ought to do with their rude comments always makes me laugh.
The area is lovely though, shame about some of the people but the same can be said for Ceredigion, Gwynedd etc. Now we've got some Plaid Cymru plonker going on about home rule. A brain cell short of a cow turd.

You won't hear much Welsh being spoken South of the Landsker, the dividing line between the Welsh and English speaking areas of Pembrokeshire. The local don't even have a distinct Welsh accent. If you are in Tenby for example there is not much besides the road signs to remind you that you are in Wales.

Re: Balls.
Back in my teens, we were hiking out that way and called in to a village post office for some refreshments.
"English are you?" said the Postmistress.
"No, we're from Cardiff," we replied.
"Oh yes... English" said the woman, with total disdain.
Lovely countryside though!

Could I recommend an alternative approach? Spend a winter season up in Wick (the Caithness one), then your home ground in Lossie will seem a lot warmer and more appealing.
