Housebuilder Persimmon's boss in line for 'outrageous' £50m shares windfall despite Theresa May's crackdown on fat-cat pay
• Chief executive Jeff Fairburn will get the first chunk of a share bonus next month
• When Persimmon launched its incentive scheme in 2012, 15% of investors registered disapproval

‘There’s no doubt the big housebuilders have filled their boots thanks to Help to Buy. And it’s hard-pressed taxpayers who have made them so rich.’
My sentiments exactly.

Apparently so, while not as headline grabbing as Persimmon nevertheless not to be sniffed at.
“Barratt chief is expected to receive shares worth £1.4m if targets are met”

And, that’s on top of the £3.3-million salary he reportedly picked up last year.
The fatcats just keep getting fatter, this time with the help of a large dollop of cream from the British tax payer.

Yes - so how do we combat this greed
I thought that Maggie reducing the top rate of tax from around 95% was a sensible idea - so there would be no need to pay excessive sums. But the opposite seems to have happened - even larger excessive sums are now being paid. Methinks it should be back to 95% tax rates. To soften the blow - lets call it a community charge, and for each 100k paid, lets present the "donor" with a plaque - and perhaps offer to name a ward for each 1million "donation"

When Corbyn is PM he will iron out this kind of inequality of pay.
