A lost artifact from the Great Pyramid of Giza, one of only three artifacts ever recovered inside the last remaining wonder of the ancient world, was found in a chance find at the University of Aberdeen.

This article raises streams of questions in my mind, not least why there is not a photo of these 'fragments of wood'

This paragraph in particular comes with no further explanation!

"The cedar fragment originally belonged to a much larger piece of wood, which was recently seen during a 1993 exploration of the interior of the pyramid by a robotic camera in hidden and now inaccessible voids."

The Times this morning tells us that the fragments were found in an old cigar tin and after it was opened the curator identified them as the 5.000 year old fragments of one of three artefacts recovered from inside the Great Pyramid of Giza by Waynman Dixon a British engineer in 1872. They have been carbon dated to between 3341 and 3094 BC.
