Standard rules here, or Berne Convention II ?
If the former, Royal Oak.
BC-II would allow a half-return with a Kondratiev shift to West Brompton

I had assumed from PDs post, the former.

Which suggests the safety shot obviously, so let's get that out of the way:

The simplest rules possible would be good, never having played before. Maybe Lyttelton’s Tudor Court version would be apt, which I imagine permit a change of rules during the journey, and, in any event, would fit the standard game old rules classification in the OP.

With that in mind, “Monument” must be the choice.

I can see we have a bunch of amateurs playing this game, so let's up the stakes and invoke the devolution rules....

Erk. A Schoolboy Error. And after only 8 posts. There are no amateurs here!

Goodge Street - and before anyone whinges that two successive diagonal moves without an intervening Russell Square are illegal, this is a classic example of Lyttelton's fianchetto that is allowed when there is a bishop present

Parsons Green

Hmm... invoking the C of E Parsonages Measure 1938 I. Clever.
But under the First Fruits and Tenths Measure 1926, all tithes from Parsons Green have to go to (in order) Hornchurch and thence to CANONS PARK!

That's all very well but Canons (formerly Cannons) Park has a car park and is near to St Lawrence, Little Stanmore. Not to be confused with Great Stanmore, which is near Little Stanmore. The church includes an organ once played by Handel.

The nearest tube station to Handel Street appears to be Russell Square.

Am I on the correct line(s)?

Sounds awkward.

Would Handel > Brook St > Bond St Tube work?

Glad to see you both readily noticed the intended double intendre. After all, that's what LoOTP used to be about and your Cockfosters meets that criteria.

Wordsworth was originally from Cockermouth. I've no idea if he visited London in search of yet more daffodils but he may have been pleasantly enchanted with:

Regents Park

PS The First Fruits and Tenths Measure 1926 was repealed in 1993. Are you sure you are playing to the rules?

Definitely: vide Chapter 9 Section 288a (ii) "Tithing variants" where they even mention Whitechapel but this is now regarded as non-PC and discriminatory. Temple is of course illegal.

The obvious move is to a Royal Peculiar
Westminster.

(Hampton Court would be tactically preferable, but only allowed in extended play, during Lent)

Definitely not. A better Circular move is KING'S CROSS (opened in 1761 by George III; sometimes cross but always a little peculiar, caused by prickly hawthorne in SHEPHERD'S BUSH)

Hang on! I was there just the other day! I even alighted there, just for the win, even though it was Camden Market I was headed!
