The Unknown Soldier (1955)

Many of the actors had actually seen action in WW2, my grandfather was part of the team led by Lauri Toerni (Larry Thorne) on whom John Wayne's The Green Berets (1968) was later based on. Thorne was also Waffen SS.

My grandfather was a Jew who later in life got Alzheimer's and got very paranoid, even the telephone pole guys were spying on him and trying to catch him for his war crimes - shooting the Russian war prisoners in the back of the head with a Parabellum. So he went and hung himself in the garage.

What a guy.
