Citation needed (from proper source, not observations about vaping).
The grown-ups in the lithium world are thinking ahead to how they supply the middle of the S-curve of EV growth, it's not about 2 years ago or today, but the lithium supply in 3-5 years time, because that's the kind of lead time on building a new mine.
Every lithium miner/processor is whetting their lips with stories to their shareholders of how lithium is the biggest boom since Rockerfeller, just buy the new shares we are about to offer & you will do well.
It's the long play book used by gold miners, oil well drillers etc.
This is a good example of the hype:
https://www.greentechmedia.com/articles ... -battery-mAt current rates they estimate 365 years of supply from known reserves & then note that with extremely aggressive assumptions it will only be 17 years, the message: "This is a no brainer, give us your money"
But Lithium can be recycled, there is lithium all over the place & lithium ion batteries use very little lithium & the batteries are cheap as in my vape example and the odds on some new tech emerging like solid state batteries are high.
You will find many other examples saying how desperate we are for lithium. Please fund our mine, etc
If you believe them you will likely lose a lot of money.
