Ranked Choice Voting

Brexit means, well, Brexit. This is from the scriptwriter stable that gave you nuggets such as "strong and stable government".

I am getting a little tired of listening to politicians of all stripes interpreting "what the people actually voted for", when it is patently clear that no-one has a clue exactly how much economic self-harm folks are prepared to endure to maintain the purity of our great Celtic/Angle/Saxon/Norse/etc/etc nation (written by a Breton/English/Native American - I usually tick the "mixed other" box)

Isn't it time we introduced a little sanity into the process and see of a number of options, which "the people's" centre of preference actually lies?

Some form of graduated selection? Has the time come for Ranked Choice Selection: Hard, Fudge, Remain?

A legislative fudge is never enough...

That’s the Alternative Vote system. We rejected it in a 2011 referendum. Unlike the 2016 referendum, that wasn’t a messy advisory referendum but a real one with a ‘shadow’ law all drafted and ready to be implemented on the day after the result.

Justine Greening has proposed an AV second referendum with three choices. Leave with no deal, take whatever deal the EU give to Theresa, or end the madness and unleash all the pent up investment by remaining in the EU.

So, split the Leave vote and then Remain wins. I can see why you'd support that.

It would only be fair if it was ranked choice. But even then we would be deciding something that is already decided. So the only sensible case for a second vote would be "Leave with whatever deal the EU imposes on us" versus "Leave with no deal".

"Remain" has already lost and so does not need to be revisited.
