Re: Musk endeavours
Nasa to launch first crewed mission from US in decade -
Nasa has announced that next month (28th May 2020) it will launch its first crewed mission from US soil in almost 10 years.
The rocket and the spacecraft it is carrying are due to take off from Florida’s Kennedy Space Centre on 27 May, taking two astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS). Both the rocket and spacecraft were developed by private company SpaceX.
Nasa has been using Russian rockets for crewed flights since its space shuttle was retired in 2011. If successful, SpaceX – headed by billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk - will become the first private firm to send Nasa astronauts into space.
The Falcon Nine rocket and Crew Dragon spacecraft will take off from the space centre’s historic Pad 39A, the same one used for the Apollo and shuttle missions. It will take astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley approximately 24 hours to reach the ISS.

Couldn't they do that before? It might explain some of the accidents.

Musk calls for re-opening of America:

does this imply any poor Tesla results coming very shortly will be blamed on a closed US?

Re: Musk endeavours
I like the progress. Clearly Q2 could be a bit bumpy. The slide showing the model 3 penetration in US premium sedans vs competitors, and the corresponding model Y segment size is spot on and will be more so for CN and EU.
I am not so happy with II's lackadaisical approach to B&ISA matters which has cost me. However my own reluctance to seize the $400 price opportunity has cost me even more. The retrospectoscope is unforgiving.
VAG's software travails apparently continue. It sounds like it is delaying VW id3 effective launch, and has abandoned its driver assist launch in a premium Audi.

Re: Musk endeavours
This is Musk's rationality for his sales:
https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/125 ... 37730?s=20
Kinda wonder if he is foreseeing a big US property price and equity crash.
I have no idea and it could be just how he is, but after the big rally off the March lows, everything is set up for big market declines although I have no idea if it will happen.
More worrying I have no idea how this blame game with China will resolve. It could get very ugly as US elections are coming fast and if there was e.g. a boycott of Chinese product that would be a trouble for Tesla Shanghai. There are US voices who argue it is better to fight China now while the US is much stronger that China. If folk get to thinking this is even a remote possibility the odds on a serious US market decline and a Tesla specific one go up imho.

Re: Musk endeavours
This is very interesting:
https://seekingalpha.com/news/3567984-t ... ent=link-3
There is a huge potential market here for the taking from the incumbent generators who imho have been lame in the development of renewable and aided by the politicians have put the cost on to their existing consumers rather than raising equity financing. I would not be surprised if the politicians try to refuse this application, but I expect others to follow as their is a big cake here to take a chunk out of.
