A punt for £500

#50973

Postby OLTB » May 3rd, 2017, 4:46 pm

Hi all

I'm going to have £500 dropping into my SIPP soon by my SIPP provider as a bonus for transfers in. As it's free money and low value, I'm very happy to take a high risk with this and just wondered if there are any longer term growth suggestions from any contributors? I have been thinking of plumping for a Lithium etf (EPIC: LIT) owing to the possibilities with future battery tech etc.

All my responsibility of course, but am very open to ideas!

ATB, OLTB.

Has anyone ever considered a small punt on a sugar futures ETF?

http://www.hl.co.uk/shares/shares-searc ... ties-sugar

I haven't done any research and I'm not an expert. My only interest is that I note that the price appears to be at the bottom of a 10 year range.

There'd be many factors to consider of course with supply/demand and governmental interference at the top of the list.

Interesting. Might be fun to join you with a £500 punt if something interesting comes up on the thread !

I read that Corn is at a 10 year low and might be ripe for an upturn. But don't know much about it. Commodities in general appear to be undervalued but of course that's personal opinion.

I'm not suggesting for a second that this is anything I recommend personally, but I just happened to see someone linking to it on another copy trader site.

Is it a legit thing do you think? Looks most intriguing for a bit of non serious play... but only if its not daylight robbery which most too good to be true things are.

Everything to do with binary options is a Scam with a capital `S'.

To the extent that binary options are not a complete scam then at best they are a stupid gamble with awful odds.

Not to be touched with a barge pole.

Never forget:-
- If something seems too good to be true, it is.
- The reason why these companies have to advertise so much (traditional and social media) is that they chew up and spit out their customers so constantly need more meat for the grinder.

No surprises there then. Too good to be true is the mantra to stick by. Amazing how clever scammers can make scams look so real.

I did something similar recently and bought IQE. It's been an exciting ride so far. I figure it'll either multi bag or die a slow and painful death.

Sorry if I offend anyone by implying IQE is a punt, but it is for me as I don't pretend to fully understand semi conductor wafers and won't be trying anytime soon. It certainly polarises opinion.

Purplebricks - someone is going to win in the online estate agency war, and it might just be them.

Consider Asiamet (ARS). Huge potential with the squeeze on copper building. DYOR
