When using HL's Fund Charts & Performance tool to compare the Total Return performance of a fund eg 'Aberdeen Emerging Markets Fund' with an equity eg 'Vanguard Emerging Markets ETF' (VFEM) and 'Templeton Emerging Markets@ do readers know if total return is accurate all costs are taken into account ? - By the way in this comparison VFEM appears to beat both TEM and Aberdeen Emerging Markets Fund for its Total Return over 5 Years .
Does the HL charting tool TR take into account fund charges. What about the cost of buying VFEM and TEM and Stamp Duty ? - Does anyone know which of these are taken account of in the Total Return Performance graphs the tool produces ?
By the way if a share/IT is selected first (eg TEM) for comparison with another share eg (VFEM) then only the share price graphs appear to be displayed for comparison with no Total Return (TR) - am I correct in assuming this ?
Can any readers help and suggest some better (free) comparison website tools to use or is HL the best one ?
Thanks,
Tim

Tim
My understanding is it takes into account charges and therefore uses total return data on a net basis. I think there's a small footnote outlining the calculations when you opt to use the option of downloading a pdf.
Best wishes

What's so special about HL's facility?
There are a lot of available free sites, ADVFN for example has a number of different charting systems.
