For me, I always found that problematic, and would suddenly discover I'd still be sitting on the cash months later. I now won't sell unless I know what I'm putting the cash released into.

I quite like to have some "dry powder" available ready for a market correction or other opportunity to deploy it. I tend to have to resist the temptation to re-invest it too quickly.

I recall this is a notional portfolio but not all the BB Biotech distributions are free of Swiss withholding tax, based on this press release from 2016 (I've yet to find the equivalent for 2017 and 2018):

http://www.euroinvestor.com/news/2016/0 ... e/13332569

Shareholders voted in favor of the proposal to pay out CHF 14.50 per share in cash, drawn in part from capital contribution reserves (CHF 12.25, exempt from Swiss withholding tax) and retained earnings (CHF 2.25). Payment will be made on March 23, 2016, the date of record is March 22, 2016 and the ex-dividend date is March 21, 2016.

How will you account for any withholding tax or is the notional portfolio, notionally held where withholding tax won't apply (perhaps in a pension - I haven't checked the double tax treaty).
