Out of interest, is it still possible to hold paper certificate stocks, or is digital the only option remaining?

Not sure of the question but I hold certificated stock certificates and they are valid so yes, but they are due to be dematerialised some time in the not too distant future. (2020 ish I think) You can also buy shares and get a share certificate. That in fact as far as I know is the only way to get your name on the share register and that is one thing that lobby groups are trying to protect. Well, Crest but few brokers now offer it.
