Finally, tomorrow, I can put my lights away until late September.

So who's looking forward to Spring/Summer and what plans to you have? I'm continuing to toil along with various repair projects and may even attempt something more than 40-50 miles this year ...

Clocks go forward at 01-00 hrs on the last Sunday of March, this Sunday, the 25th is the last Sunday. Most people don't stay up till 01-00 hrs of course.

preparing our latest caravan - 1994 lunar meteor - for trip to scotland in may/june.

selling old van - 1983 lunar clubman (classic?) which still runs fine .

planting onions and 25 yards of potatoes .

improving house plumbing/wiring .

Yep, when I hit 50 I was convinced it was some sort of mistake. I was sure I'd turned 40 about 4 years previously, and 30 maybe 6 years before that..

Me too, and refused to celebrate it formally. Happy to get there of course but not the named figure. Now don't care to count any more.

Want to get my old car ready in time for the agm in April. Have only managed to attend one of them in the last 20 years. Maybe this time.

Yep, 53 for me this July - "there must be some mistake!" that's arguably mid 50s

A three-year experiment to keep British Summer Time year-round, held between 1968 and 1971, found an 11pc reduction in road casualties in England and Wales during the hours affected by the time change – and a 17pc reduction in Scotland.

There are roughly 50pc more fatal and serious injuries among adults travelling during evening rush hour than the morning peak, and three times as many injuries among children.

An extra hour of evening daylight could save the NHS £200m a year in accident related costs. In addition, the Home Office believes crime would see a 3pc drop, as crime is more likely to be committed in the evening than in the morning.

In surveys support for moving to BST is 53% for vs 32% against - thats a 500% greater swing than we have for Brexit.
Unfortunately MPs don't want to give up GMT which makes the UK 'the centre of the world', so here we are.

O/T for the board but surely it would be just as easy to have 'summer hours' for school and work??

Yeah, but TPTB would rather give us free jetlag twice a year.

I wonder if a good bracing ride can help with the jetlag? Can I motivate myself to do it?

the simple solution is to have GLOBAL time - no time zones then .

this would be quite handy for us as it would probably be gmt .

also the military use it - ZULU time i think .

then decide locally on school/shop times .

simple...
