1890's bicycle

I am currently reading a study of sorts with notes and sources from newspapers from 1896 in Minnesota USA, in the story there features a bike being used in a bank robbery getaway. As a side note it seems that bicycles were quite widely used in general for long distance traveling across state lines, cyclists often favouring short knickerbocker trousers.
One bicycle identified was "a Lovell diamond frame racer, high geared, with very low handle bars, gotten up for speed".
