Confused - how to manage my photos

Help ! I have got confused between Google Photos and Windows Photos applications on my Windows PC.

I have uploaded my digital camera photos from SD card to Windows Photos. I would also like to upload photos from my Android phone but I have just got totally confused about what applications and systems that I need. I have installed Google Drive and tried to sync it all up but am now completely confused about what I need to do. Can anyone explain this to me in simple terms ?

Basically, my requirements are to store my photos and be able to upload easily to Facebook and Instagram to share with friends. The ability to sort and process my photos with Windows Photos seems good - I like being able to search, sort by date etc.

TIA Liz

You aren't really explaining yourself very well - have you managed to sync your Google Drive photos from your android phone to your PC?

If you are finding it difficult using both Google Drive, you might find it easier to just transfer the photos manually from your phone to the PC, like you do with your camera.

Hi Liz,

I have never had to do this but if you Google "importing android photos into windows" then you will find various methods for various versions of windows.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the replies. Sorry it wasnt clearer. I abandoned my attempt to autosync and decided to upload manually, as suggested. Windows 10 needs some persuasion to recognise USB attached devices. And Android also needed some persuasion to transfer the photos (had to select Developer settings on my OP5). Got there in the end ! Liz
