I remember Lockheed Martin saying that they would have fusion in a container cracked within 5 years easy.....10 years ago.

Yep, "In October 2014, Lockheed Martin announced a plan to "build and test a compact fusion reactor in less than a year with a prototype to follow within five years"." :D https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockheed_Martin_Compact_Fusion_Reactor
