A nice selection of photographs from 1969 here, including a now-poignant shot of the World Trade Center in New York under construction and, oddly, President Nixon jumping down from the trunk of a limousine.

Interesting that John, Paul, George and Ringo didn't make the cut, even though 1969 was the year of the Beatles' final live performance (the rooftop session at the Apple building) and the release of Abbey Road. But great pic of Janis Joplin.

Many thanks for these photos. They take me back. I too noticed how much the Vietnam War features in them. Incidentally Don McCullin the photographer who was responsible for a lot of the photos of that War, has an exhibition I see in London at the Tate at the moment. No doubt it would be of great historical interest as well.
