Many thanks for that. I have been waiting for it all year. Will take a look in a few areas later today.

Re: 1921 Census Scotland
I wonder if it's the usual 6 credits per view?
I looked yesterday but there was nothing specific I could see about paying more for the 1921 census than for the previous ones, unlike the England and Wales 1921 census on Find My Past, which even charged full subscribers extra when first released.

I will be aggrieved if it is any different from accessing other records and would not expect that. I am particularly interested to see if I can find my mother's family when they were growing up. I realise i know more about earlier generations than i know about her family.

Relax everyone! I have been waiting all year so I can wait a bit longer for things to settle down. I am in no great rush.

Love family tree/ ancestry. Once you start digging, it's an addictive hobby!

Re: 1921 Census Scotland
I have just checked on Scotland's People. Easy and no problems. Same price as before and i have found what I was looking for. Will do a bit more digging later on but this once in ten year event is very helpful.

Agreed I did mine a couple of years to relieve lockdown boredom on https://www.findmypast.co.uk
Managed to go back 8 generations and lots of old black and while family photos meant so much more, even found out a lot of their names

Re: 1921 Census Scotland
Hijacking this thread for a moment. Is the English 1921 Census data generally available, or is it only in Find my past?

yes it would appear so (if you want it online)

They have a nerve though
I had a subscription with them when it came out BUT any record I wanted to view from the 1921 census cost a few pounds more
my sub has lapsed as once you have done your family tree there is no need to renew it

I guess they want to recoup the costs they incurred in digitising it but I did think it a bit rich to charge existing subscribers.
I think it is now included in the premium subscriptions.

I tend to have one year subs, sometimes to Ancestry sometimes to Find my Past, then let things lapse for a while, relying between times on the free access which they both tend to offer occasionally. I find FmP best for English records as their parish records seem more comprehensive, and leaving things for a year or two means when I go back to them, there are often new records not previously available.
Dragging this back on topic, I don't think the 1921 Scottish census will help me much. Though I'm 25% Scottish, most of my Caledonian ancestors seem to have escaped south of the border by then
