Elderly person - loss of appetite

Postby Snorvey » April 12th, 2018, 8:49 am

This is getting very frustrating, just watching a (relatively) elderly relative stop eating, but I'm sure i'm not the only one to see this kind of thing happen to one of their family.

The thing is, the tablets she's taking on an empty stomach combined with the lack of eating probably just make things worse - But she needs to keep taking the tablets - it's a vicious circle.

We've tried almost everything she likes, but nothing is tempting her. She's going to end up in hospital (where she doesn't want to be) and they'll plug her in and force feed her.

Any thoughts? Is there anything I should be asking the doctor or any other health professional to do?

Try and get her to snack on Farley’s Rusks. They’re what we’ve used in similar situations in the past. Good Luck!
