Exercise bike recommendation?

#316681

Postby ReformedCharacter » June 9th, 2020, 11:13 am

My OH would like to buy an exercise bike. She finds conventional seats uncomfortable so it looks as if a recumbent design might be best. Does anyone have a recommendation for make\model, please? Thanks.

Depends how serious she is. Usually with exercise equipment I'd say it is a mistake to buy cheap but a decent recumbent set up might cost many hundreds of pounds.

On the other hand some thing like this:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Exerciser-Digi ... 154&sr=8-1

will do the job while sitting in a chair and does not cost a lot.

The best exercise bike is a rowing machine. :D

And it's recumbent too!

Can you tell us a bit more about the other half

Is she a young fitty freek or grandma wanting to be a bit more active whilst watching tv?

You can buy different seats. Normally for gents they are too wide and can make you numb down there.

You can also adjust the tilt slightly up or down. It might not be the seat but the fit

Having tried out all the different types of exercise machines at the gym, I much preferred the Treadmill. Completely agreed about the need to get high quality stuff.
I got a Nordic Track Commercial 2950 from John Lewis. Excellent and it comes with Ifit so I can run on a Costa Rican beach or in the Alps or anywhere!

Just a little.

Somewhere between the two.

So I hear.

Thanks for the tip, I'll remember that next time I have the opportunity ;)

I think I'll have to break that news gently.
